Found this lovely thing outside our service entrance when I left work tonight. What's that you say? An ordinary Passat? By no means...

Also, drove an A7 some lady turned in off her lease today. Also rode in the back seat. SO FUCKING NICE. Heated steering wheel, power adjustable steering wheel, dual zone climate control and heated for front AND BACK, 3.0 Turbo and Quattro. Sticker said 76,000. I may have cried a little.

Unrelated, my car in the dark after I washed it tonight. Too ashamed by my generally dinged up cars and poor photography skilz to post in the reader rides thread.

Borrowed the roof rails from parts to ferry a hood for my 83 244 from Salem NC back home to VA. Took forever, but it worked. I'll take a better photo sometime when I'm feeling less lazy.

The black is very ominous. Like it's just waiting to get into some trouble. What wheels are those? I'm currently shopping new shoes for my B6.

Haha, surprisingly it hasn't been in trouble much yet. The wheels on the GTI are VMR V701, which will be for sale shortly. I broke one of my stock wheels on a pothole, and buying a new set of VMRs was cheaper than a new OEM wheel. They're 5x112 18x8.5. Interested?

Ah, The Passat W8 with 4Motion - Sending all the kids of the VW service staff to college. It's a great car, for any VW service manager that needs to make the numbers. Honestly, the Phaeton's natural V8 was waaayyy more reliable.

I've seen a few W8s before. Good idea, but I think they had a bad reliability reputation.

All the features you listed on the A7 I have on my 530i. Heated steering wheel is like crack in the winter - so, so nice.

Yep. I have heated seats in the front, but would love to get a heated steering wheel. Maybe when I get the Mk7 R I'll see about an aftermarket option if it doesn't have one available.
